SW Idaho Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Apprentice Training Committee
Last year we spent over $150,000.00 in training for the apprenticeship program and journeyman upgrading classes. 70 apprentices attended 246 hours each of classroom training.
These classes include OSHA, Heritage, Science, Math, Rigging, Soldering and Brazing, Basic Electricity, Isometric Drawing, Water Supply, Drainage, Steam Systems, Hydronic Systems, Gas Installations, Medical Gas, Leadership, and Plumbing Code.
Journey persons are welcome to attend these classes as space allows. There were also 18 journey person upgrade classes held throughout the year. These classes are arranged on an as needed basis, and include Medical Gas, Boise City Gas Fitter License, Leadership, Swagelok Bending and Fitting Classes, Orbital Welding, First Aid / CPR and OSHA Classes.
Additionally, 24 different welding certification sessions were held this year with 233 of our members attending. This is an impressive way to show our contractors and customers that we have an ongoing and successful training program.
